Confederate Sates Armory Officers Sword

Here is a fine example of a Confederate States Armory officers sword sword mfg. by Louis Froelich in Kanasville NC .
This sword is in fine condition complete with 100% of its original leather grip wrap. The scabbard has a few minor dings with about all of its original dark reddish brown paint present as seldom remaining. The swords guard has the number Roman number "LIII"stamped into it as well as the scabbard throut mount "LIII" standing for "53".  Blade has some normal stains and slight period sharpening to its edge. This sword was purchased direct from the Whittle family from Virginia along with a inscribed Sharps Cav Carbine with "Whittle / Co. C. 2nd Va. Cav".cut into the stock. Research shows that this sword was carried and owned by Bev. Kennon Whittle /Co.C 2nd Va. Cav.
